Bucks Radio Breakfast Presenter becomes 60,000th person to receive COVID-19 jab at Stoke Mandeville Stadium.
Our very own Ben Moseby got more than just his second jab on Saturday - The Big Breakfast host was shocked to discover he was the landmark "jabee" as the vaccination team celebrated the achievement on their last weekend at the Stadium.
Dr Sajid Zaib from Oakfield Surgery and his team, lead by Dean Elliott from Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service, told us "We would like to thank all our wonderful volunteers who have supported the vaccination program from early January, clocking up an amazing 15,000 hours between them. We also reached a fantastic milestone of 60,000 vaccinations and successfully reaching out to 95% of the most vulnerable people in Aylesbury and the surrounding villages. A massive team effort sadly draws to a close to allow for the national vaccination service to operate from the Guttmann Centre 7 days a week from 21 June. A big thanks to Vicki Parker and Kate Carty for their dedication in managing all of the patient appointments".
Ben said "The team at Stoke Mandeville Stadium have been doing an unbelievable job. I was totally shocked and gobsmacked when they told me I was the 60,000th jab! It was great to chat to the team and find out just how hard everyone has been working. Hats off to all the team and particularly the volunteers who truly are amazing."
