Chesham Moor Gym and Swim has been broken into.
The leisure centre in Moor Road is currently undergoing a huge £1.3million renovation.
The crime took place in the late hours of Monday into Tuesday morning.
Chesham Town Council said: “We are both angry and devastated to have to share that the Gym & Swim suffered a break-in.
“Entry was forced, property was damaged and various power tools and a mini digger were taken.
“The team on site have been working tirelessly to complete the project on time, and now with only a few weeks to go, they have to deal with this setback.
“We now need to hope that those responsible for stealing from our community facility are quickly apprehended and brought to justice.”
