Volunteers from Chesham Environmental Group have collected 17 bags of litter during their first work party of the year, despite a small turnout.
Six volunteers took part in the litter pick last week, covering Lyndhurst Road, Cowper Road and surrounding area.
Together they gathered six bags of general rubbish and 11 bags of recyclable waste, including cans, bottles and hard plastics.
Among the more unusual finds were six NOX gas canisters, three disposable vapes, two paint pots, a broken umbrella, a portable speaker and parts of two scooters. The group also collected cardboard packaging and polystyrene, believed to be from Christmas presents.
The volunteers also reported heavier fly-tipped items, including a flat panel television and a suitcase, via FixMyStreet.
Chesham Environmental Group is a community organisation and town council partner that runs conservation projects across Chesham, with volunteers of all ages and abilities helping to improve the environment.
