Bucks Council are looking for volunteers to help them catalogue the Paralympic legacy collections, based at the Council’s Walton Street archives centre in Aylesbury.
Bucks is well-known as the birthplace of the Paralympic movement, with the first Stoke Mandeville Games taking place here in 1948. As part of this international sporting heritage, Buckinghamshire Archives holds an extensive collection of archive materials relating to the movement.
However, at the moment, much of the content in this important collection is uncatalogued, so isn’t available for historical and cultural research.
If you're interested in helping, email: archives@buckinghamshire.gov.uk. National Paralympic Heritage Trust
