Bucks Council are inviting anyone with an interest in protecting vulnerable people from being drawn into radicalisation and terrorism to attend a community event this Thursday (26th May).
The Prevent Community Roundtable will take place at Adams Park Conference Centre in High Wycombe at 6pm on Thursday 26 May.
It'll aim to protect and support those most at risk of radicalisation and becoming involved in terrorism or supporting terrorism, and also wants to help those who may already be involved in terrorism, to break their involvement.
Steve Bowles, Cabinet Member for Communities said: “The aim of our local Prevent strategy is to reach the small number of vulnerable people in Buckinghamshire who are vulnerable to being drawn into terrorist-related activities and to protect and support them.
"We are keen to work with key people and organisations in our community to do this and we would invite anyone with a keen interest in this subject matter to come along to this event.
“Thankfully terrorist activities like the Manchester Arena bombing and the stabbing of MP David Amess are relatively rare but we all have a responsibility to help protect our communities and those who may be vulnerable to exploitation.”
