A car overturned on the northbound M40 between junctions five and six on Sunday morning causing both sides of the motorway to be temporarily closed.
At around 11.13am on Sunday 16th January, a silver Vauxhall Astra was travelling towards Oxford on the M40 when the incident occurred. Emergency services were called to the scene.
No other cars were involved in the incident and the driver of the Astra sustained only minor injuries.
The southbound side was reopened within an hour but the northbound side was entirely closed for approximately 90 minutes, with one lane still closed after three hours before finally being reopened.
Investigating officer, Brian Perry of the Joint Roads Policing Unit based at Bicester, said: “I am appealing to anybody who witnessed the incident or may have dash-cam in their cars to please check their footage and get in touch if it has captured anything that could assist this investigation.
“Anyone with any information can make a report online or by calling 101, quoting reference number 43220021896.
