Opera lovers can get their fill in Chalfont St Giles from late summer
The Vache Baroque Festival is returning to Chalfont St Giles for a second year, from August 28.
After a successful first season, the week-long event promises to explode back onto the scene with a full programme of music, drama and dance.
And it all kicks off with a Spring special event at The Vache this Saturday.
Highlights to be heard this year include readings from John Milton's epic poems, the resounding music of Bach, and a stage performance of Handel's Acis & Galatea.
Dance group BirdGang Ltd are set to entertain the crowds with an evening of contemporary movement traditional Baroque tunes.
Festival patron James Bowman said: "Having seen the programme, I'm really looking forward to being there.
"There are some excellent opportunities for young performers, which as we all know is so important at this difficult time.”
Here's what you can expect:
- May 29 - Coffee Baroque - tasty hot drinks and music
- August 28 - Bach and Milton: Paradise and Pandemonium - a take on Adam & Eve, plus readings from classic Milton
- August 30 - Dance Suites feat. BirdGang Ltd - old meets new with contemporary dance and trad music
- September 3 & 5 - Acis & Galatea - Handel’s pastoral opera
