Today (21/5) sees the launch of Save Our Streams, named SOS for short.
Affinity Water, the UK's largest water supplier has launched a landmark movement, urging the public in Bucks to stop wasting water and protect the county's chalk streams.
SOS asking the public to save 21 million litres per day - that's less than 10 litres per person, per day, to make a real difference.
Jake Rigg, Corporate Affairs Director at Affinity Water said:
“Stand-up for Our Streams has been a fantastic, innovative way for us to highlight this major environmental issue facing the UK.
Affinity Water is committed to ending unsustainable abstraction from local streams, but it must be a community effort. Saving water at home will help us do this and support our efforts towards a zero-carbon future.”
You can get involved here https://www.saveourstreams.co.uk, it's a new and helpful resource with easy, personalised tips to help us all waste less water, and free water-saving gadgets.
