Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident that took place yesterday (23/3) on a public footpath near Maids Moreton Avenue, Page Hill.
Sometime between 1pm and 2pm, a teenage girl was walking through woodland on the path when she saw a man talking to himself.
As she walked past, the man grabbed her, and tried to remove her clothing but she fought him off and escaped.
The offender is described as a black man in his twenties, around 6ft tall, of medium build, with brown hair and a tattoo on the back of his hand. He was wearing a mask, a white vest, blue baggy jeans and red Converse trainers.
Lead investigating officer Detective Inspector Christopher Birtles, of Buckinghamshire CID, said: “We are appealing for the community’s support following this sexual assault on a teenage girl in a public wooded area yesterday afternoon.
“This is a concerning incident but we are doing everything we can to support the victim, find the offender and protect the wider public.
“We have numerous police officers in the area as a result, including detectives and uniformed Neighbourhood officers, and our Mounted Section will be on patrol later today, so please speak to us if you can help or have any concerns.”
