Nominations have opened for the 2026 Community Awards celebrating the contributions of residents, volunteers and businesses in Wendover.

The Paralympic Flame will be lit today (Tuesday 24 February) at Stoke Mandeville, the symbolic heart of the Paralympic Movement, marking the beginning of the journey toward the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games.

In 1944, at the request of the British Government, Dr. Ludwig Guttmann opened a spinal injuries centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Great Britain.
