Entirely volunteer run Aylesbury based Children's charity, Emmett's Genies work with critically ill children and their families to put smiles on their faces. They have their next big event, a 24 hour party, on 9th-10th September in Aylesbury.
Approximately 25 families will arrive at noon on the Saturday and leave at noon on the Sunday. During that time they will celebrate Valentines, Easter, Summer, Halloween, Guy Fawkes and then they'll go to bed knowing it's Christmas Eve and wake up to Christmas morning. During that time Emmett's Genies volunteers will spoil them as much as possible with all the costs covered by the charity.
Amy Scullard, Chair Founder Trustee of Emmett's Genies explains that "the idea behind this event is that these family have missed these holidays due to hospital admissions etc. Some of our poorly kids will not see another Christmas unfortunately. So we are giving them a "bonus year" together with our Year In A Day party. We want Christmas to be amazing, and all the kids are getting a Christmas gift off Father Christmas."
But they need your help.
They have been able to use some wonderful gifts donating via the Bucks Radio Christmas Toy Appeal last year, however they have an Amazon wishlist of specific items the kids have written on their early lists to Santa and also a dedicated justgiving page for donations towards more unique specific requests such as tickets to see Heathers musical on tour, Arsenal football kit, a drysuit to enable a girl with cancer to go swimming, and a family zoo trip to name a few. Any contributions towards these would be gratefully received.

Amy went on to say "Our families are so excited and we at Emmett's Genies are working tirelessly to ensure the event is incredible and allows our families to make life long memories together"
